The American Craft Beer Quick Hits – February 29, 2016

, The American Craft Beer Quick Hits – February 29, 2016We blame the industry for this… It used to be that when we wrapped up our Weekend Picks on Friday, we could coast through the weekend. There was little need to check in for updates – things were pretty much done. But clearly all that’s changed.

So here’s some of what’s happened in the world of craft beer while you were off enjoying yourself.

, The American Craft Beer Quick Hits – February 29, 2016Win The Drink Internship Of A Lifetime!  (Reston, VA) – The World of Beer is looking for three interns to experience the job of a lifetime. Imagine spending your summer traveling to breweries, talking to brewmasters, attending festivals and going abroad to try exclusive beers as part of WOB’s Drink IT INtern Program search, which kicks off nationwide tomorrow. And this Wednesday, the WOB-Reston will be the first tavern to hold in-person interviews for this mind-blowing opportunity and Dogfish Head’s Sam Calagione will be on hand as one of the event’s judges!

So whether you’re a photographers or a writer, a social media maverick, or beer blog surfer, you’re invited to come out and throw your hat in the ring for a gig that you’ll never forget.

Again, interviews will be taking place at WOB in Reston, this Wednesday, March 2nd at 4:30 pm until 7:00 pm – And yes, you can thank us later!

Countries like Scandinavia, Germany and the Czech Republic have long championed the healing qualities of hops and the pleasures of beer baths and treatments. But now Oregon is home to what we believe is the first commercial beer spa in the states. Founded by massage therapist, Sally Champa, Hop in the Spa now offers, beer baths, body wraps and facial scrubs

BrewDog Sends An Open Letter To Donald Trump (Aberdeen, Scotland) – You can tell that that , The American Craft Beer Quick Hits – February 29, 2016politics are close to getting out of control when a brewery as “in-your-face” as the UK’s BrewDog, feels the need to advise Donald Trump that he might want to dial things back just a bit. It’s trademark James Watt and you can read his amusing comments here.

Another Reason Not To Play Beer Pong (Albuquerque, NM) – The Albuquerque Journal is reporting that a “suspect has been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with a New Year’s Eve shooting that developed over a game of beer pong.” Luiz Delgado, the beer pong participant (and alleged murderer) was arrested after meeting with police last Friday.
