Friday the Firkinteenth (Philadelphia, PA) – The Grey Lodge is beloved by craft beer fans in the mid-Atlantic, and Friday the Firkinteenth is the popular craft beer emporium’s most famous event. Every Friday the 13th since February 1998, they have tapped unique cask ales provided by some of the region’s best breweries and they’re doing it again tonight. This event has grown so popular that they’re introducing a day and an evening session this year to better accommodate rabid fans. Tapping for the day session starts at noon – and tapping for the evening session begins at 6 pm. As always, there is no cover charge and you can come and go as you like. Bondage On the Big Screen – Unquestionably timed to coincide with Valentine’s Day, Hollywood is releasing an S&M themed bondage “romance” to enjoy with that special person in your life. Taking its premise from the international literary phenomenon, Fifty Shades of Grey tells the story of student (in more ways than one) Anastasia Steele, whose life changes forever (that’s for sure!) when she meets handsome, yet tormented, billionaire Christian Grey, who likes his love rough and his women submissive.
Valentine’s Day Zwickelmania (Oregon) – A once-a-year “backstage pass” to Oregon’s best breweries, Zwickelmania is an annual one-day event where more than 110 breweries open their doors to all their fans. It’s all happening tomorrow, February 14, from 11 am to 4 pm. Oregon breweries, both big and small, are participating with meet-the-brewer events and free beer samples. Last year, more than 36,750 people toured 105 participating breweries statewide and the Oregon

TV Time – One of the year’s most anticipated prequels debuted last week and it’s time to jump in. AMC’s Better Call Saul tells the origin story of Saul Goodman -Walter White’s endearingly sleazy lawyer from Breaking Bad, and traces his questionable path in the years before he came to represent the legendary meth-kingpin. Created by Vince Gill and Peter Gould – Better Call Saul might just be America’s next great television drama – so get onboard.
Our Valentine’s Day Beer Pick
Firestone Walker will be releasing the 2015 vintage of something wild on Valentine’s Day – and we can’t think of a better way for you to spend this day than drinking “something special” with “someone special.” The 2015 Feral One is a 6.7% ABV blend of Vintage Solace, a wild wheat ale aged between 16 and 48 months in French and American oak; Agrestic, an American wild red ale aged between 24 and 28 months in French oak; and Lil’ Opal, a brett’d saison aged for 26 months in French oak. This year’s edition will be released at Barrelworks on Valentine’s Day at the Feral One Liberation party.
