New Belgium To Celebrate 25th Anniversary With Fat Tire & Friends(Ft Collins, CO) – New Belgium has tapped some longtime brewing friends to help, creating a their own spin on their  flagship, Fat Tire for a mixed 12-pack expected to hit retail in early June:

Allagash Brewing is producing a version of Fat Tire using a Belgian yeast sourced from the Poperings region and also add a touch of the Allagash house Brettanomyces for good measure.

Avery will focus on a fruitier hop bill and also with a dose of Brett to give it some apricot and pineapple tang.

Firestone Walker is doing a west coast interpretation of Fat Tire with an assertive hop profile and a light lager yeast.

Hopworks Urban Brewery (HUB) is creating a tart Fat Tire bringing in apple and lactobacillus to help highlight the green apple snap inherent to the original Fat Tire.

Rhinegeist transformed Fat Tire into a Belgian XPA, combining a fruity Belgian yeast strain with bready-sweet European and Colorado malts for a beer they hope will please hopheads and wine drinkers alike.

, The American Craft Beer Rumor Mill – March 9, 2016What We’ve Been Drinking Lately (Washington, DC) – We’d like to thank all of the American craft breweries who’ve shipped us beer from time to time. It’s always great to sample the brews that we write about and it helps to give us a better feel for what’s happening out there. And last night we hit up a seasonal release from Magic Hat that got the job done. Introduced just last year and once again making its spring return, Magic Hat HI.P.A is a 6.7% ABV India Pale Ale with a great label designed by the famous concert poster artist, Stanley Mouse.
