So many beers, So little time… After eight years of building two distinctive brands, Port Brewing and The Lost Abbey are introducing a third line of beers to their portfolio. We’ll have more on that for you, plus we’ve some interesting new releases from Upslope and Modern Times Beer that you’ll want to get your sweaty little hands on.

, Newbies – New Releases That You Want to Look Out For

Prairie Noir (Tulsa, Ok) – One of the nation’s most innovative “heartland” breweries, Prairie Artisan Ales has a new barrel-aged Stout that sounds awesome. Prairie Apple Brandy Noir is their massive 12% ABV midnight black Imperial aged in apple brandy barrels. It’s out there now – but won’t be forever  so you know what to do. 

Dank & Sticky (San Marcos, CA)  After eight years of building two distinctive brands, Port Brewing and The Lost Abbey are introducing a third line of beers to their portfolio , Newbies – New Releases That You Want to Look Out Forbranded as: The Hop Concept Brewing. Their first beer was just released as part of their The Hop Freshener Series (where the names explain the flavor and aroma of each beer). Dank & Sticky IPA is an 8.5% ABV Imperial that boasts aromas of citrus, and dank, resinous pine. And given its pedigree – we’re thinking this is something you need to chase down.

Live Sessions (Charlottesville, VA)  Starr Hill has a new Live Session Barrel Series release guaranteed to keep you warm while winter rages. Starr Hill’s Live Sessions Bandstand Barleywine Ale is a massive, 13.5% ABV limited edition that was aged in bourbon barrels from the award-winning distiller Smooth Ambler Spirits. It’s currently only available in 22 oz. bottles at their taproom.

, Newbies – New Releases That You Want to Look Out ForDead Beer Walking (San Diego, CA) – Modern Times Beer has released a new Coffee Stout that sounds very interesting. City of the Dead is a 7.5% ABV Stout that’s bourbon barrel-aged with unroasted coffee beans. No one that we know of has ever done this kind of thing for a large scale release, and it’s available now in 22 oz. bottles.

Lee Hill Lives Here (Boulder, CO)  Upslope Brewing is releasing Volume 3 from their Lee Hill Series on February 19th so be ready. Clocking in at 10% ABV, Lee Hill Barrel Aged Imperial Stout is brewed with three different kinds of roasted malts, aged in Maryland Rye Whiskey barrels, and will be available in 16 oz. cans at the brewery’s taproom this Thursday.
