Newbies – New Releases That You Want to Look Out For

So many beers, So little time… Here’s something that might surprise you – an acclaimed Texas-based brewery has created a pumpkin-themed beer – that doesn’t use any pumpkins. We’ve got more on that for you, plus new offerings from Sierra Nevada and Jack’s Abby that you’ll need to run down.

, Newbies – New Releases That You Want to Look Out ForBrace Yourself (Atlanta, GA) – What happens when a 500-year-old Belgian-style ale gets rear-ended by audacious amounts of American hops? SweetWater Brewing’s newest Catch & Release Series beer is the answer. SweetWater Whiplash White IPA is a 6.2% ABV American-Style Belgian IPA that took a bronze in the American-Belgo-Style Ale category at this year’s World Beer Cup competition – so be sure to reel one in!

Oktoberfest Redux (Framingham, MA) – We’re well into peak Oktoberfest season and Jack’s Abby is celebrating it righteously. Copper Legend is the brewery’s special Oktoberfest release. It’s a brilliant take on the Märzen tradition and it’s not to be missed.

, Newbies – New Releases That You Want to Look Out ForA Different Take on Pumpkin (Garland, TX) – We’re big fans of Lakewood Brewing and enjoy just about everything they do – so we’re psyched to hear that they’re re-releasing a great fall seasonal. Lakewood’s Punkel is what they call a “Pumpkin Pie Dunkel.” But there’s a twist – it’s not brewed using any pumpkin! A dark German Lager enhanced by cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg, and ginger, Punkel is perfect for weather only Texans would consider “fall.”

Brewer Found “Packing” (Chico, CA) – Sierra Nevada has just released their final seasonal mixed 12-pack of the year, with beers geared toward warding off winter’s bite. Aptly named, the Snowpack mixed 12-pack features two steadfast recipes (their signature Porter and Pale Ale) and two newbies. The new additions include Sierra Nevada Coffee Stout and Sierra Nevada Boomerang IPA, which they describe as “a blend of American brewing style with Southern Hemisphere flavor.”

, Newbies – New Releases That You Want to Look Out ForGold Medalist (Richmond, VA) – Hardywood’s celebrated winter seasonal recently received even more acclaim out in Denver. A dark Chocolate Stout brewed using only locally sourced fruit, Hardywood Raspberry Stout is a massive 9.2% ABV flurry of decadence that took a gold at the 2014 GABF in the American-Style Fruit Beer Category.

Silver City Gets Wet (Silverdale, WA) – The Silver City Brewery has released their annual harvest wet hop ale and we’re excited to try it. Silver City Citra Wet Hop Ale is a hophead’s delight and features tangerine and orange blossom aromas and pineapple and pine resin flavors.
