Newbies – New Releases That You Want to Look Out For

So many beers, So little time…One of this nation’s most highly respected craft brewers has been caught “packing”! We’ve got that concerning story for you plus we’ve some serious new releases from Black Hog and Sierra Nevada that you’ll want to get your sweaty little hands on.

, Newbies – New Releases That You Want to Look Out ForHUB Releases an Abomination! (Portland, OR) – We call it like we see it here at ACB and we’re not letting the Hopworks Urban Brewery off the hook on this one. HUB Abominable Winter Ale is a 7.3% ABV seasonal brewed with Cascade, Centennial, and Chinook hops and attitude. This elusive monstrosity is available now in 16 oz. cans, 22 oz. bottles, and on draft in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and British Columbia bars.

You Always Remember the First Time – Our friends at Guinness will soon be rolling out that special “states only” release that we sampled in August – and we’re excited for them. A part of their innovative Discovery Series, which combines their heritage brewing expertise with different brewing styles and techniques, Guinness Blonde American Lager marks the first time the brewery has brought its signature Guinness yeast from Ireland to the US – and they’ve used it well.

, Newbies – New Releases That You Want to Look Out ForWet Love Bomb (Oxford, CT) – Black Hog Brewing recently released something special that uses only ‘fresh-picked” hops – a trend that we expect to see more of in the East. Brewed to celebrate the first Connecticut Beer Week and using locally grown hops, CT Wet Hop “Love Bomb” is a 5.5% ABV Pale Ale available now in restaurants, pubs, and bars throughout the state. A portion of its proceeds will be donated to the Working Lands Alliance.

, Newbies – New Releases That You Want to Look Out ForBrewer Found “Packing” (Chico, CA) – Sierra Nevada has just releasedtheir final seasonal mixed 12-pack of the year, with beers geared toward warding off winter’s bite. Aptly named, the Snowpack mixed 12-pack features two steadfast recipes (their signature Porter and Pale Ale) and two newbies. The new additions include Sierra Nevada Coffee Stout and Sierra Nevada Boomerang IPA, which they describe as “a blend of American brewing style with Southern Hemisphere flavor.”

New FCB Pale Ale Goes 365 (Ft. Collins, CO) – The Fort Collins Brewery has announced the newest addition to FCB’s full-time beer lineup – and we’re happy about it. The 5.3% ABV FCB 1020 Pale Ale has pronounced pine and grapefruit tones – and now you can “power-pound” them 24/7, 365 days a year!
