Newbies – New Releases That You Want to Look Out For

So many beers, So little time… A Denver-based brewery that we normally respect has released an abominable creation. We call it like it is here at ACB and we’ve the whole unfortunate story for you. Plus we’ve some cool new releases from Heavy Seas Beer and The Commons Brewery that you absolutely need to know about!

So welcome to Newbies –ACB’s essential guide to the most awesome new craft beers on the planet.

, Newbies – New Releases That You Want to Look Out ForPortlandia Sours (Portland, OR) – The Commons Brewery has a special, pre-Fourth of July brew that sounds ridiculously intoxicating and they’re releasing itthis Thursday at the brewery’s tasting room. Part of their ongoing Beetje Series,Commons Trillium is a dry-hopped blend of wine barrel-aged farmhouse ales fermented with their signature farmhouse yeast, multiple strains of Brettanomyces, and their house lactobacillus culture.Trillium will be available on July 3 at 5:00 p.m. in limited quantities in 750ml bottles as well as on draft. The striking label art was created by Adam Burke, brother of Head Brewer Sean Burke, and you can check out his awesome artwork here.

Sailor’s Delight (Baltimore, MD) – Heavy Seas Beer has just returned a perennial favorite of ours that they’ve tweaked some for 2014. Red Sky at Night is a rustic, 7.5% ABV Farmhouse Saison ale brewed this year with Slovenian hops.According to Christopher Leonard, Brewmaster and Operations Manager at the mid-Atlantic brewery, they have “further developed the beer’s complex balance, enhancing the finish to provide a crisper, more drinkable brew.”

, Newbies – New Releases That You Want to Look Out ForA Truly Abominable Brew! (Denver, CO) – Great Divide Brewing is returning the newest variation to their Yeti family of beers and we’re pretty damned excited about it. Much like its legendary predecessors, the 9.5% ABV Great Divide Oatmeal Yeti Imperial Stout is big, bold, and dark. And the addition of rolled oats softens Yeti’s notoriously roasty backbone. Just as admired as those Yetis that came before it, Oatmeal Yeti will soon be available on draft and in 22 oz. bombers.

Hophead Thrill Ride (Fullerton, CA) – Bootlegger’s Brewery is giving hopheads what they crave so wantonly. Originally a tap-only pilot brew at their tasting room, Bootlegger’s Lupulin Thrill IPA is a 7.8% ABV hop-fueled thrill ride that throws all reason out the window. This thrill ride is available now for the taking, on draft or in 22 oz. bombers, wherever shear madness is sold.

, Newbies – New Releases That You Want to Look Out ForChristmas in July (San Marcos, CA) – Santa will soon be making his way to the Port Brewing / Lost Abbey Tasting Room for the 6th Annual Christmas in July celebration to benefit The Marine Corps Toys for Tots Foundation. It’s all taking place on Saturday (July 19th)and as in previous years, the event will be split in two sessions (11 a.m. – 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. – 8 p.m.) and most importantly will feature Port Brewing Bourbon Barrel-aged Santa’s Little Helper, Port’s limited-edition, barrel-aged Imperial Stout.
