So many beers- So little time…SAVOR is taking place this weekend in Washington, DC and they’ll be giving away a special collaboration beer from two mid-Atlantic legends to everyone who attends.. We’ll have that for you – plus we’ve some new releases from Heavy Seas Beer and Bell’s that sound pretty awesome as well.
SAVOR This! (Washington, DC) – Every year, SAVOR presents those lucky enough to attend with a special collaboration beer and this year, Philadelphia’s Yards Brewing Company joined forces with Baltimore’s Heavy Seas Beer to do something special. Philtimore is described as an English-style Pale Ale with a New World character. Although it’s English-inspired, it’s also American hopped and aged on White Oak.
No Longer Left Out (Tempe, AZ) – Four Peaks Brewing Company is returning a popular seasonal for the summer months but it’s not going to be around forever. Lefty’s Lager is a 5.5% ABV hop-forward Vienna- style Lager that you can find in bars, restaurants, and retail stores starting on June 12th.
Are You Sure You Want To Drink A Beer With This Name? (Kalamazoo, MI) – Starting last year, Bell’s introduced a new series based on composer Gustav Holst’s “The Planets” orchestral suite. The Planets Series, like the suite, contains seven movements. They’re currently releasing the sixth beer from the series – unfortunately it’s one with an unfortunate name. Bell’s Uranus is a 9.5% ABV Black imperial IPA, and even though we find its name awkward, we’re still interested – and you should be too!
Red Sky In Uncharted Waters (Baltimore, MD) – Heavy Seas Beer will be debuting a new Uncharted Waters Series beer in July and it’s a very special version of the past seasonal, “Red Sky at Night.” Heavy Seas Red Sky at Morning is a 10% ABV Belgian-style Saison aged in Chardonnay barrels that tweaks up the original and amps up the final results.
Sun Dazed (Portland, OR) – Old Town Brewing is bottling a two-time award-winning beer for the first time and we’re excited about it. Sun Dazed Kölsch is the perfect sessionable beer for a hot summer day with its crisp, clean but delicate fruity aroma and flavor; this beers pairs perfectly with sunrise and sunset.
