At long last, the wait is over. America’s only televised craft beer show, Brewdogs, will be coming to Esquire Network this summer. NBC/Universal, which has been rebranding the former G4 Gaming Network into a men’s channel, will begin airing the 6-hour-long episodes late this summer.
The show features Scottish co-founders James Watt and Martin Dickie of UK crafters Brewdog. Their purpose in life, aside from crafting the world’s most insanely experimental beers, is to convert those who long for mass-produced beer into craft beer lovers by traveling the globe to make it so.
Here’s a sip of what they’re all about from their year-old pilot:
In their first season, they’ll be touring the United States, working with brewers at Stone, Anchor, Elysian, Deschutes, Victory and Oskar Blues. They’re seeking to come up with inventive collaborations and projects, such as the world’s most caffeinated beer, beer brewed on a moving train, or building a raft out of beer kegs.
If Watt and Dickie’s antics are anything like what they’ve been doing over the past 5 years, prepare yourself for non-stop action, constant hilarity, and an anything-but-boring beer documentary. They’re setting out to revolutionize craft beer on the “telly” and they’re starting right here in America.
