Summer’s coming and American craft brewers are addressing things with an intriguing roster of new beers you’re gonna want to have around as things heat up.
We Want Beer! (San Francisco, CA) – One of the Bay Area’s oldest independent craft breweries, 21st Amendment Brewery has a new addition to core lineup that was crafted to serve the most traditional of beer enthusiasts. Brewed specifically for those who appreciate a deliciously easy-drinking experience, 21st Amendment Lager is an uber-crisp 4.4% ABV refresher with a light malt body and subtle noble hop character.
Amendment Lager comes with its own symbol of freedom: an overalls-clad bald eagle, which is a welcomed salute to blue-collar living. “Amendment Lager is our response to the call for traditional, approachable options, said Nico Freccia, Co-Founder and COO of 21st Amendment Brewery, “catering to those who want a delicious beer without breaking the bank.”
Rustic (Hershey, PA) – Tröegs Independent Brewing has returned a popular limited release that evolved from its experimental small-batch Scratch Series. Mercilessly dry-hopped with Citra, Mosaic and El Dorado, Tröegs Field Study is a 6.2% ABV slightly hazy IPA with bright grapefruit, mango, pear and melon notes.
“Field Study began life as Scratch #327, when we first started tinkering with some new hopping techniques,” explains Tröegs brewmaster John Trogner. “We built on those experiments over the next few Scratch releases and landed on a grain bill featuring a backbone of Rustic Pale Malt.”
“Rustic Pale malt is kilned slightly higher than most pale malts to amplify the complex cereal and slightly nutty notes,” added Trogner.
A Juicy Oasis (Littleton, CO) – Breckenridge Brewery is upping its “juicy” game with a fruit-forward addition to its growing family of IPAs. Kicking things up aggressively in both temperament and octane, Breckenridge Juicy Oasis is a 9.6% ABV Fruited Hazy IPA that brewed with agave nectar.
“We’ve had several very successful Hazy IPAs over the years, but we’re excited to combine hints of agave nectar – an ingredient derived from our popular Agave Wheat – alongside tropical fruits, making an IPA that is really sensational,” explained Carl Heinz, brewmaster of Breckenridge Brewery. “With the growing demand for high ABV IPAs across the country, we felt like we had a winning liquid on our hands that needed its own name – hence Juicy Oasis.”
