Hey it's Wednesday and that means it's Rumor Mill Time...It appears that Big Box Stores will be going Big Beer! We'll be bringing you what we know so far. As many Bostonians may recall, Memorial Day weekend was cold, rainy - and the setting for the city's first proper rock festival, Boston Calling. Two days of live bands, good eats, and huddling in unseasonably chilly weather brought a lot of music fans together.

Lance is not your typical man and his journey is not your average brew tour. Lance is an extraordinary individual who has autism and a photographic memory. His documentary not only shows his passion for life as a beer expert with 40 years of memorized beer history, but also documents his personal growth of overcoming obstacles to be an inspiration to the autism community.

Our friends at the Brewers Association just sent us an urgent communiqué with the results of their annual "Great American Beer Bar" contest. This year's competition, which they ran on CraftBeer.com, resulted in more than 5,000 nominations and 37,000 votes and we're rushing you 2013's results because we're assuming that many of you will be out drinking tonight - as usual.

We blame the industry for this...It used to be that when we wrapped up our Weekend Picks on Friday, we could coast through the weekend. There was little need to check in for updates - things were pretty much done. But clearly all that's changed. So here's some of what's happened in the world of craft beer while you were enjoying yourselves.

Many in Portland think that we live at the center of the beer universe and while most of us have suffered enough beer damage to actually believe this, we actually aren't. What many here don't understand is just how much the craft beer scene has exploded all over the country. With this in mind, while vacationing this summer, I decided to indulge in whatever I could get my hands on in the hopes of proving that this brave new wave of artisanal brewing is in fact producing amazing results nationwide.
