Oskar Blues Brewery, which has spent much of its energy over the past few years expanding east into North Carolina and down into Austin Texas, is turning its sights back home state to Colorado…and to great cities like Denver, Colorado Springs and Boulder.
Oskar Blues Grill & Brew which soft opened last Thursday in Denver’s trendy LoDo neighborhood marks yet another return to Colorado for the Longmont-based brewery and food maker.
In late October, Oskar Blues Grill & Brew opened in an historic two-story building in Colorado Springs and they plan to follow-up their new Denver opening with another Grill & Brew up in Boulder in 2018.
Oskar Blues’ newest Denver-based restaurant/taproom/music venue, which officially opens in January, is a great example of how the brewery is growing its multi-faceted lifestyle and brand.
First and foremost, Oskar Blues’ new emporium is a temple for beer…it will always have 48 beers on tap — about 10 to 20 of them Oskar Blues beers or from other breweries it owns through their CANarchy collective.
Secondly their new Denver location is a grill that’s committed to fresh ingredients and serious about food that plays well with craft beer…
And sure they still offer food “concepts like CHUBurger, (which opened a location in Denver’s uber-hip River North District earlier in the year), but as the Biz Journals reported, they’ll also be upscaling things bigtime with organic rib-eye steaks offerings and dishes like finely smoked brisket and authentic jambalaya.
And finally there’s the music piece which is increasingly a HUGE part of Oskar Blues Holdings business plan…
Opening its stage to major league talent in January, The Black Blizzard is a separate music venue, downstairs the Oskar Blues Grill & Brew with its own 48-tap bar and attitude. It was a legendary Denver blues music venue a decade ago, that’s been handily redesigned and rechristened to further Oscar Blues serious music meets serious beer ethos.
So yes, Oskar Blues is returning its attention to Colorado in a big way…And their striking new Denver-based beer, food and music complex is nice way to announce that they’re back.
