Newbies – New Releases That You Want to Look Out For

So many beers, So little time… We’ve three new releases from three distinct Ft. Collins-based breweries and they couldn’t be more different. We’ll have all of that for you, plus we’ve some interesting new releases from Victory and Two Bothers Brewing that you’ll want to get your sweaty little hands on.

Prost! (Ft. Collins, CO) – The Fort Collins Brewery is returning a popular spring seasonal that they’ve been brewing for over a decade. FCB’s Maibock is their 6.4% ABV take on the German classic – a lager that was traditionally brewed in the fall, aged in the winter, and celebrated in the spring.

Cocoa Nuts (Downingtown, PA) – Victory recently released a decadent Porter variation and we’re all about it. Victory Deep Cocoa is a massive 8.5% ABV Porter brewed with cocoa nibs. It’s rich, complex, and available now on draft and in 750ml bottles.

Golden Sours (Fort Collins, CO) – In early March, Odell Brewing will be releasing the latest from their popular Cellar Series and it sounds pretty awesome. Odell’s Brazzle is a crisp golden ale that was aged and soured in former Woodcut barrels for a little over two years. Three hundred pounds of raspberries (Yes!!!) were added before and after the barrel-aging process, giving the beer both a puckering tartness and a hint of raspberry sweetness.

Horns Of The Apocalypse (Warrenville, IL) – Two Brothers Brewing has a new Music Metaphor Series release that you may want to check out. Two Brothers Apocalyptic BeBop is a cabernet barrel-aged Belgian- style “Quad.” This very limited release is available now in 22 oz. bombers – so you know what to do.

A Folly (Fort Collins, CO) – New Belgium Brewing is returning a Lips of Faith Series favorite and we can’t wait to get our hands on this year’s release. La Folie, French for “the folly,” is the brewery’s earliest sour beer release dating back to 1997. A wood-conditioned brown ale, La Folie ages one to three years in French oak foeders – enormous wood barrels formerly used in wine production. This one-of-a-kind sour is sharp like a Lambic and sour in the finish, and it’s available now in 22 oz. bombers and on draft.
