2023 is ending its run and American craft brewers are addressing the coming year with a smart roster of new beers you’re gonna want to have around.
Dogfish Head Spruces Things Up (Milton, DE) – Dogfish Head just returned a seasonal cult favorite that should be hitting retail now. Brewed with massive additions of fresh spruce tips from the region’s winter forests, Dogfish Head Pennsylvania Tuxedo is a BIG 8.5% ABV Pale Ale with a doughy malt backbone that allows the hops and spruce to meld and shine through.
Pairing Ideas: Try Pennsylvania Tuxedo along with a lamb dish for a down-right delicious pairing. The dry, balanced bitterness of the beer will cut through the fatty flavors of the lamb to cleanse the palate and prepare it for another bite.
Sunshine State Of Mind (Naperville, IL) – With more craft breweries than ever before brewing serious non-alcoholic beer, ACB is expanding our coverage to include new NA beers that matter. And Go Brewing has a critically acclaimed India Pale Ale that comes with all of the taste and none of the baggage.
Inspired by Sara Fix, a stage 3 cancer survivor who has completed 28 Ironman races all over the globe, Go Sunshine State is a buzz-free Tropical IPA with big mango and peach flavors tethered to a sturdy hop backbone.
Christmas Timed (Portland, OR) – StormBreaker Brewing has a fun new holiday release that pays homage to A Christmas Story, a holiday film with a rabid cult-following. Brewed in reaction to all the malty high octane beers that dominate the season, StormBreaker Fragile (pronounced Fra-Gee-Lay) is a 5.2% ABV Italian-Style Pilsner with fresh herbal, grassy notes and a hint of fruitiness. And it’s label showcases the famous leg lamp from the movie.
“Fragile pays homage to one of our favorite holiday movies, A Christmas Story,” stated Rob Lutz, StormBreaker Brewing’s brewmaster and co-owner.
“We love finding new ways to honor our favorite holiday traditions while also creating new ones, which is why we decided to brew a light Italian-style pilsner that is perfect for all types of beer drinkers.”
