Less than five years old, Hi-Wire Brewing is bullish about their prospects in 2018 and they’ll be spending serious cash to ensure their ‘beer dreams’ come true.
In an effort to increase their overall distribution sales by 56% in 2018, Asheville, North Carolina’s Hi-Wire Brewing has committed to spending over $500,000 in a brewery expansion at their Big Top Production Facility beginning next month.
In addition to adding eight new 90 barrel fermentation tanks that are expected to increase the brewery’s total capacity from 18,900 bbl to 6,460 bbl next year, Hi-Wire will also be investing in a new canning line, installing stainless hard piping throughout the brewery, upgrading the water infrastructure, and adding more state-of-the-art equipment to ensure their beer’s quality.
All this on top of Hi-Wire’s expanded commitment to canning, which has allowed the brewery to revamp their year round beer lineup to include 12-pack cans of both their 6.7% ABV Hi-Pitch Mosaic IPA and their lower-octane Lo-Pitch Juicy IPA .

“Cans are becoming more and more an accepted package by the consumer for their craft beer. With the active lifestyles our customers are engaged in, a lighter, more convenient container is definitely an item that our distributors and consumers have been asking for over the past few months.
We believe there is a significant amount of business to be had in all channels by putting two of our most popular styles in a 12-pack can configuration and look forward to a very positive response from existing and new consumers alike.”
Additionally, Hi-Wire will be streamlining and re-envisioning their seasonal offerings in 2018….and mixing bestsellers such as Aerialist Spring Lager and Zirkusfest Oktoberfest with popular throwbacks like Raspberry Wheat Wine and Tropical Golden Strong Ale.
