Incoming!
The Covid-19 lockdowns brought out the crazy in people, but companies weren’t immune either, like cascading cans of its Busch Light Apple to earth from a helicopter at top secret US locations.
Here’s the deal…
In 2020, at the height of the COVID-19 lockdowns, Anheuser-Busch introduced Busch Light Apple, the brand’s first flavor innovation ever. And maybe it was because of the pandemic panic and people were drinking anything, or the brewery just nailed it, but whatever the reason Busch Light Apple sold out quickly.
Responding to what the company saw as a “pandemic need” the company returned its apple “core” limited release with a sky-high promotion that was a little hard to envision how they were going to pull off.

Run!
In July Busch airdropped several pallets of its apple-flavored beer via helicopter to top secret locations around the United States. And fans could enter a social media competition for the chance to find out the co-ordinates and intercept the free haul that will literally fell from the sky.
That was assuming they didn’t get smashed to bits. After all an airdrop is an air-DROP otherwise Anheuser-Busch, the world’s largest brewing, who can certainly afford these kinds promotions, would have billed this thing as an air-delivery…no?
“With hype continuing to grow around this year’s drop, we wanted to do something unforgettable that offered fans insider access like never before, Daniel Blake, Group VP, Budweiser & Value at Anheuser-Busch said at the time, “and also give a few lucky fans a chance at the first batches of Apple just in time for the 4th of July.”
To attend the secret Busch Light airdrop, all fans needed to do was comment on Busch’s social posts and Busch provided select individuals with insider access to the drop location nearest them.
Unfortunately protective helmets were not provided the lucky winners, so that was on them.
And reports of lingering injuries remain unsubstantiated.
