Spring is here, and summer not all that far away…And brewers are addressing the fast changing season with a variety of interesting beers that you might want to chase down.
Vietnam Rules! (Comstock Park, MI) – On April 27, Perrin Brewing is returning a much-anticipated release with an afternoon of festivities at its brewery and all the bells and whistle that accompany a true “event beer.” Released in 22oz “Yellow Bowling Ball” bottles and on draft at its tasting room, Perrin No Rules Vietnamese Imperial Porter, is a 15% ABV pitch black monster brewed with coconut, cinnamon and turbinado sugar, then laid down and aged in bourbon barrels.
A Stone Richmond Original Goes National (Escondido, CA) – Stone Brewing is giving an East Coast IPA that originated at its Virginia brewery a well-deserved national rollout. Named after a 3m x 3m square in Stone’s Richmond, VA brewery with three obscure words painted on it, Stone///Fear.Movie.Lions (yep, those are the names on that square) is an 8.5% ABV unfiltered Double IPA with big tropical & citrus notes and a surprising West Coast bitterness that rounds things out nicely.
Pretty In Pink (Longmont, CO) – Left Hand Brewing is pushing the envelope with a new nitro release (its newest year-round) that we can’t wait to get our hands on. Bursting with raspberries and blackcurrants and pouring a blushing pink, Left Hand Flamingo Dreams Nitro is a 4.7% ABV Berry Blonde Ale that’s light, fruity and uber-smooth.
Bear Republic Rises To The Challenge (Cloverdale, CA) – Bear Republic Brewing’s newest limited release is challenging at best and part of an entirely new series of Bear Republic canned ales. Starting juicy but ending bone-dry, Bear Republic Challenge Series #11 is an 11% ABV Double Brut IPA, that’s powered by late additions of over four pounds per barrel of Citra and Galaxy hops.
