2025 is ON and American craft brewers are celebrating things with an interesting roster of beers that you’re gonna want to have around.
Storm Warning ( Ipswich, MA) – Voted Best Brewery on Boston’s North Shore four consecutive years, True North Ale Company is an award-winning operation whose beers have been poured in more than 2,000 bars and restaurants and sold in more than 2,000 stores in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island.
And they’ve a new addition to their 2025 Sour Series that’s worth chasing down. Inspired by the Hurricane cocktail, created in New Orleans for the Mardi Gras celebration, True North Eye of the Storm is a 6% ABV spring seasonal, with layers of bold fruit flavors that give way to a tart and refreshing finish.
Foreign Intrigue (Dublin, IR) – We’re big fans of Guiness, so much so that during a recent craft beer junket in Ireland, we would end every night the local pub with a Guinness Draught Stout in hand. But Guinness also makes another stout that’s equally distinctive.
Much lower in alcohol (7.5% ABV) than its American compatriots, and unlike their flagship, carbonated rather than nitro-infused, Guinness Foreign Extra Stout delivers rich dark chocolate, dried fruit and caramel tones, and is as close as the brewery gets to what might be considered an “Imperial” stout in the United States.
Deservedly popular around world and accounting for 45% of their worldwide sales, Foreign Extra is less ubiquitous in the states and a valuable find when you happen upon it.
Grand Prix on the Road (San Diego, CA) – Forged in 1995, AleSmith Brewing has been recognized as one of the world’s foremost craft brewing companies. Their beers are always worth chasing down, and the Speedway Stout variations never disappoint. And now the award-winning brewery is offering four different variations of their iconic Imperial Stout in its Grand Prix on the Road 4-Pack.
Included in this uber-special mixed pack:
- Speedway Stout: Maple Bar Edition – Imperial Stout with Maple Syrup, and Coffee. (12% ABV)
