Anheuser-Busch just renewed its sponsorship with the PGA Tour, making it one of the Pro Golf Association’s longest tenured official marketing partners.

Here’s the deal…

, Michelob Ultra Named The Official Beer Of The PGA TourThe PGA Tour is the main professional golf organization in the United States, featuring some of the world’s best male golfers. It organizes and oversees numerous elite golf tournaments, including:

  • The Players Championship (often called the “fifth major”)
  • FedEx Cup Playoffs (a season-long competition ending in the Tour Championship)
  • The Arnold Palmer Invitational, and other prestigious events

The PGA Tour is separate from major championships like The Masters, the U.S. Open, The Open Championship, and the PGA Championship, which are run by different governing bodies, but it’s still a very big deal that Anhueser-Busch is willing to pay big bucks to be a part of.

As part of the six-year extension through 2030, Anheuser-Busch brands Michelob Ultra, and Michelob Ultra Zero will be tapped as the “Official Beer Sponsor,” “Official Non-Alcohol Beer Sponsor of the Presidents Cup, the biennial competition between the United States and International teams.

Additionally, Michelob Ultra Zero has been named the “Official Non-Alcohol Beer of the PGA Tour and PGA Tour Champions.”

“The PGA Tour and Anheuser-Busch have worked hand-in-hand to continuously evolve our partnership since its inception in 1994, and we are proud to introduce the latest efforts to that goal with Michelob Ultra’s new global category rights,” said Brian Oliver, PGA Tour Executive Vice President, Corporate Partnerships…

Anheuser-Busch began its partnership with the PGA Tour in 1994 and added Michelob Ultra as an official sponsor of the Tour in 2002. And the global rights categories added to Anheuser-Busch’s extended agreement will afford Michelob Ultra, the company’s fastest growing beer brand untapped opportunities with golf around the world, as well as enhanced visibility at the Presidents Cup.

“For more than 30 years alongside our partners at the PGA Tour, Anheuser-Busch has been delivering experiences that authentically integrate our brands and elevate the game of golf for our shared fan bases,” added Kyle Norrington, Chief Commercial Officer, Anheuser-Busch. “Led by Michelob Ultra, our extended agreement will allow us to give more fans superior access to the courses and sport they love.”
