Hey it’s Labor Day Weekend and we’ll be shutting things down shortly. No need to freak out though, because we’ll be back in action and in full damage mode next Tuesday the 7th. But before we start binge drinking, we’ve some fun ideas for things you might want to do this weekend. We’ve also a Labor Day Beer Pick for you too, because we know you’ll be drinking, if you haven’t already started.

Celebrate Labor Day With Your Local Brewers (Everywhere, USA) – Labor Day Weekend is a perfect time to drink locally. It’s a long weekend, so why not visit some of those new breweries in your neck of the woods that you’ve been hearing good things about. Nothing drinks better than beer at its source. And there’s no better people to celebrate this holiday with than your brewing community friends – Cheers!
On The Big Screen – It’s clear that Hollywood’s not expecting many to be celebrating Labor Day at the movies this long holiday weekend – and they’ve decided to dump some pretty questionable titles on us this weekend. And one of the most worrisome (so naturally it’s our pick) is The Transporter Refueled, a sequel that no one was asking for – to an action movie reboot that was a box office bomb to begin with. There’s a reason that movies like this are released on Labor Day Weekend – and this film’s potential to suck is through the roof.
Mass High (Boston, MA) – The Massachusetts Brewers Guild is hosting its 6th Annual Mass Brewers Fest this Friday, September 4th, at the beautiful World Trade Center Head House Concourse, located on Boston’s historic waterfront. This evening event (6:00-9:30 pm) will feature more than 100 cutting-edge beers from the region’s most exciting brewers – so you don’t want to miss that. TV Time – The Labor Day holidays are perfect for TV binge-watching – and Netflix just dropped something that might cause you to never leave the house this weekend. Narcos’ is a potentially addictive drama based on the real life exploits of drug kingpin Pablo Escobar – and chronicles his rise from petty street criminal to the “The King of Cocaine.” The jury’s still out on whether this decades-long continent-spanning, drug epic will go on to become epic viewing. But it’s sexy, ambitious and has a great look – so we’re in, at least for now.
OUR LABOR DAY WEEKEND BEER PICK
With summer now waning and fall soon to come, we’re changing things up at the ACB compound and SweetWater Brewing has a new hop-hash infused release that we’ll be hitting heavily this Labor Day weekend. SweetWater Hash Brown is a ‘hop-resin” happy 6.2% India Brown Ale that’s available now in 12oz cans and on draft.
