So welcome to our awesome Weekend Picks…

, The American Craft Beer Weekend Picks – November 21, 2014A Pre-Thanksgiving Winter Harvest (Washington, DC) – Our friends at The Hand Crafted Tasting Company are throwing the Winter Harvest edition of the DC Craft Beer Festival this Saturday (Nov 22nd) and these people are good at what they do. This two-session, pre-Thanksgiving festival will showcase winter releases from 75 of America’s best breweries, with a special focus on DC, Maryland, and Virginia’s award-winning craft beer scene. Attendees will be able to sample more than 150 seasonal brews this year and they’ll also be presenting a series of intimate craft beer seminars with noted craft beer authors and industry leaders that you’ll want to check out when you’re there. For a complete rundown of who’s coming, check out: Winter Harvest.

On The Big Screen – The penultimate chapter of The Hunger Games movie franchise opens this weekend and the pre-buzz on this flick has been huge. In The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1, Jennifer Lawrence reprises her role as Katniss Everdeen, a young woman who grows from a popular player in the “games” to a revolutionary leader poised to take down a despotic government. Inspired by a series of Young Adult novels, these movies have become increasingly dark and couldn’t be more adult.

Beer Summit at the Castle (Boston, MA) – The Beer Summit Harvest Fest returns to the legendary Park Plaza Castle in downtown Boston this weekend. This two-day (Nov 11th-12th), three sessions event will feature more than 200 beers from all around the world and showcase a bounty of autumn seasonals that you’d seldom find in one place. For ticket information and to find out who’s coming (and what they’ll be serving), check out: Beer Summit

TV Time – The history of the Showtime network’s Homeland is uneven at best. The first season of this political thriller that stars Claire Danes as a bipolar CIA operative was brilliant, but it floundered its second year – and , The American Craft Beer Weekend Picks – November 21, 2014season three was downright awful. The fourth season of this once-acclaimed drama launched last month and happily, it seems to have recaptured some of its original mojo. It may be too soon to declare this season a total success- but we’re watching it more closely now – and maybe you should too.

Our Weekend Beer Pick

The days have grown colder – that’s stout-drinking weather – and we’ve a classic for you from the Left Hand Brewing Company.Left Hand Milks Stout Nitro pours pitch black and drinks creamy smooth. This 6% ABV Milk Stout has a well-deserved reputation and we think that it stands with the best of the best in this style. We seldom give raves here at ACB. This is a rave.
