, The American Craft Beer Weekend Picks – May 29, 2015Firestone Walker Invitational Beer Festival Returns (Paso Robles, CA) – We’d be remiss if we didn’t mention that the Firestone Walker Invitational  returns to the Paso Robles Fairgrounds this Saturday, May 30th – even though this thing sold out the day tickets went on sale. This annual celebration has fast become one of the industry best run and most popular craft beer events in the nation and one of the few craft beer festivals that can be considered on par with leading industry event’s like the BA’s SAVOR. – This weekend’s new movie openings include a new film by one of our favorite directors and a cataclysmic earthquake flick that could be stupid fun. Cameron Crowe made one of the best rock and roll movies ever (Almost Famous) and for that reason alone we’d invite you to check out his latest release, Aloha. And the fact that it features actors like Bradley Cooper, Rachel McAdams, Emma Stone and Alec Baldwin, doesn’t suck either. Bikes, Beer and Bon Vivants (Washington, DC) –   It’s time to costume up, grab the bike and get ready for an epic day because the Tour de Fat is kicking off its  2015 season in the nation’s capital this weekend! New Belgium’s traveling showcase of bikes, beer costumes and entertainment arrives at DC’s Yards Park this Saturday, May 30th. The event itself is free – but all donations and proceeds from beer and merchandise sales go to area non-profits. Featured entertainment includes Sister Sparrow & the Dirty Birds, Charles Bradley, yo-yo performers and vaudeville acts. There will also be a beer education station, rideable art bikes, a “Thousand Person Dance Contest” to win a New Belgium cruiser bike, and even a fashion show are in the mix – so there’s that.

TV Time – Their both on HBO and they’re both follow the uber-popular Game of Thrones – and if you’ve not yet caught up with Veep or Silicon Valley, you’re missing two of the best American comedies currently on TV. Now in its fourth season, Veep stars Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Selina Meyer a one-time Vice President who is, at least for now, hysterically the President of the United States. Silicon Valley is a brilliant send-up of America’s competitive technocracy and focuses on six young men who struggling to build a startup
