, The American Craft Beer Weekend Picks – July 25, 2014Sierra Nevada Beer Camp Tour, Rocky Mountain Edition (Denver, CO) – If you missed the first two Beer Camp Across America Tour Dates – that’s on you – but there’s another one happening today (Friday, July 25, 2014) from 5-10 p.m. This Sierra Nevada sponsored festival will feature 112 of the region’s most exciting breweries – and tickets are amazingly still available for today’s event. And if an un-ending stream of brilliant beer isn’t enough for you, there will also be live music and all kinds of wild entertainment. Proceeds from this festival will benefit the Colorado Brewers Guild (CBG) to keep craft brewing alive and well today and in the future. , The American Craft Beer Weekend Picks – July 25, 2014On the Big Screen – From La Femme Nikita to The Professional, writer/director Luc Besson has created some of cinematic history’s toughest and most memorable female action heroes. And he’s doing it again this weekend with Scarlett Johansson in Lucy, an action-thriller that tells the story of a woman forced to work as a drug mule who turns the tables on her captors and is transformed into a revenging warrior. This one could be brilliant, stupid, or possibly a little bit of both – but the trailers look fun and some of us are crazy about Scarlett Johansson.

, The American Craft Beer Weekend Picks – July 25, 2014Big Doings In The Wolverine State (Ypsilanti, MI) – The oldest of the Michigan Brewers Guild’s four annual festivals is taking place tonight and tomorrow (June 25th-26th) and you don’t want to miss it! The 17th annual Summer BeerFestival will be returning to Riverside Park in the city’s historic Depot Town neighborhood. This two-day event will feature an incredible 800 beers from more than 80 of the region’s best breweries, with an emphasis on big and hard-to-find beers. There will also be hourly releases of special festival beers, live music, and awesome food. For more info on this “must-attend” beerganza, check out: 2014 Summer Beer Festival

The Mother of all Folk Festivals Returns (Newport, RI) – In the annals of live music history, the Newport Folk Festival holds a very special place and it returns to Rhode Island’s Fort Adams State Park for three days (June 25th-27th) of eclectic music and innovation this weekend. Launched 55 years ago this week, the festival has evolved to encompass a multitude of musical directions and this year, it’s featuring artists the likes of Jack White, Ryan Adams, and Band of Horses. Our Awesome Weekend Beer Box Set Pick

Terrapin Beer is the latest brewer to release a summertime variety pack, which increasingly are becoming a signature marketing move for many of the country’s most creative breweries. The Box Set Variety 12-Pack includes three of their year-round selections, HopsecutionerTerrapin Rye, and Liquid Bliss, a chocolate peanut butter porter that was introduced in 2012 as part of their Side Project Series. But the box set’s biggest highlight might be the return of the 7.5% ABV Capt’n Krunkles Black India Pale Ale, which has never been released in a 12 oz. bottle before.
