Hey it’s Friday… and you’re ready for some fun. Well good, because we’re all about it and we’ve got all kinds of ideas for you. From the nation’s coolest beer festivals to movies, music and cutting edge TV – we’ve got your back big-time.  Plus we’ve a weekend beer pick for you too, because we know you’ll be drinking!

So welcome to our awesome Weekend Picks…

, The American Craft Beer Weekend Picks – January 22, 2016Lake Erie Throwdown (Cleveland, OH) – Sierra Nevada and Fat Head’s Brewery will be hosting the 3rd annual Cleveland Winter Beerfest downtown at the Cleveland Convention Center this weekend – and it sounds like a good time. This two-evening beerganza will feature more than 350 winter seasonals and exotics from over 100 of this country’s most exciting craft breweries in a spectacular 100,000 square foot setting. For a complete rundown of everybody who will be coming (and what they’ll be serving) check out: Cleveland Beerfest

On The Big Screen – Clearly Hollywood is thinking that most moviegoers will be mostly checking out the many Academy Award nominated flicks still in theaters – because the new offerings opening this weekend look questionable at best. The fact that an actor the caliber of , The American Craft Beer Weekend Picks – January 22, 2016Robert De Niro would ever agree to star in a movie named Dirty Grandpa is depressing enough. But if you’re not in the mood aging fart jokes there’s also The Fifth Wave, a YA end-of-the-world alien drama that’s been quietly dropped into the marketplace – never a good sign.

North to Alaska (Anchorage, Alaska) – Frigid climates were made for drinking Barleywine.  So our northwestern friends might want to check out the Great Alaska Beer & Barleywine Festival taking place this weekend at the William A. Egan Civic & Convention Center. This two-day (Jan 22nd -23rd) three session beerganza will feature over 300 Barleywines, Winter Warmers and cold-weather seasonals from the Far North’s most accomplished brewers. There will also be a judged competition, live music and more food than you could ever consume! General Session Tickets are $45 per person. Admission price includes 6 oz. Commemorative glass, 30 samples, ID band, and official program for those of you who can read.

TV Time – Netflix continues to deliver interesting and controversial offerings and their new ten-part documentary is definitely stirring things up. Making a Murderer explores the story of Steven Avery, a Manitowoc County, Wisconsin man who served 18 years in prison for sexual assault and attempted murder, before he was exonerated and released in 2003. It then goes on to chronicle his re-arrest and conviction for the , The American Craft Beer Weekend Picks – January 22, 2016murder of a local photographer, in 2007. Is he innocent or guilty? Compelling and addictively binge-worthy!
