Warm Up To The Holiday Season This Weekend (Portland, OR) – The 19th annual Portland Holiday Ale Festival is up and running in “The City of Roses” and continues into Sunday, December 7. Considered by many to be one of winter’s premier craft beer events, this year’s festival will feature more than 50 serious winter ales, many of them brewed especially for this event.From Belgians and Barleywines to Stouts and Sours, this is holiday drinking at its best. On The Big Screen – Reese Witherspoon’s newest film debuts this weekend and it’s been generating all kinds of buzz. Wild tells the true story of a self-destructive woman’s 1,100-mile solo hike on the Pacific Crest trail, undertaken as a way to recover from the dissolution of her marriage and the loss of her mother. Wild captures the terrors and pleasures of the journey she was completely 
unprepared for – and some critics are calling it Witherspoon’s best role of her career.
Hangars On! (Seattle, WA) – The Washington Brewers Guild is presenting the 2014 Winter Beer Festival in Hangar 30 at Magnuson Park this weekend – and you don’t want to miss it. This year’s two-day (Dec 5th-6th), three-session event will feature outstanding winter seasonals from more than 45 of Washington state’s most brilliant breweries. This year’s lineup will include dark malty stouts, robust winter warmers, and barrel-aged gems. And yes, there will be beards…lots and lots of beards.
