Doomtree Gets Surly (Minneapolis, MN) – Surly’s a brewery not afraid to shred things up. Doomtree’s a Twin Cities hip-hop collective known for their music and mayhem. So why wouldn’t they work on a collaboration beer together? Surly Doomtree will make its debut at the band’s final Blowout Tour date in December, but Todd Haug, the Head of Brewing Operations at Surly, is not giving up the beer’s style.

, The American Craft Beer Rumor Mill – November 12, 2014What We’ve Been Drinking Lately (Washington, DC) – We’d like to thank all of the American craft breweries who ship us beer from time to time. It’s great to be able to sample the brews that we write about and it helps us have a better feel for what’s happening out there. Last night, the temperature in DC dropped like 20 degrees, so it was a perfect time to try the new winter seasonal we just received from Gordon Biersch. First brewed to sustain fasting monks in the eleventh century, Gordon Biersch WinterBock is a classic, dark 7.5% ABV Double Bock featuring four different types of malt. This is a big beer with a lot of body, and is available seasonally from November through January.
