Sierra Nevada is Tanking in North Carolina (Mills River, NC) – The Sierra Nevada Brewing Company blog is reporting that they are officially “tanking” at their new East Coast location, near Asheville, North Carolina. Altogether, they’ve installed 28 tanks that can reportedly accommodate 793,000 gallons of beer. This additional capacity will bolster their overall production and take some strain off their brewery in Chico.

Daredevil to Double Capacity! (Shelbyville, IN) – Indiana-based Daredevil Brewing Co. will soon be getting bigger, according to our friends at beerpulse.com. Having just begun shipping in January, the brewery will soon be installing new equipment, allowing them to produce over 2,000 barrels per year going forward – and that’s huge news for the heartland’s Lift Off IPA fans!

It’s “love of city” was a part of the company’s recent decision to rebrand Boulevard Pilsner as KC Pils, but it doesn’t stop there. The company has announced that it will donate a full 10% of sales from KC Pils to area charities in greater Kansas City. “From the beginning, we’ve worked hard to give back to the community,” said Jeremy Ragonese, Director of Marketing for Boulevard. “The 10% for KC program takes these efforts to a new level.”

Budweiser Moves To Replace Pepsi as the World’s Leading Music Sponsor (Saint Louis, MO) – We can’t say we didn’t see this coming. Billboard is reporting that Anheuser-Busch is looking to overtake Pepsi as music’s biggest brand. According to the music industry trade magazine, “Anheuser-Busch InBev is prepping its largest portfolio-wide push yet in support of music this summer – an even bigger power play for music’s most powerful sponsor.” Expect to see a series of new initiatives for Budweiser, Bud Light, Landshark lager, and Beck’s pilsner to roll-out everywhere this summer. From festivals to record stores, Budweiser intends to be there – whether you like it or not.

A Rumor Mill Release You Want to Look Out For

Sierra Nevada Brewing Companyhas just announced the spring release of their much-loved Southern Hemisphere Harvest Ale, brewed entirely with newly harvested New Zealand hops. Returning for a sixth year, the beer is a south-by-north fusion that showcases the flavors and aromas of Southern Cross, Pacifica, and Motueka hops. Be sure to grab some soon, because if this year’s release is even half as good as Southern Hemisphere Harvest – 2011 was, we’re going to be drinking a ton!
