Hey it’s Wednesday and it’s Rumor Mill Time…There’s fantastic news coming out of Westeros and we’ll be bringing you everything we know so far. Plus we’ve got some fast-breaking news from Dogfish Head at the Firefly Festival and from New Belgium up at Telluride! We’ve also got an awesome new release that you’ll want to chase down. So fasten your seatbelts everybody…THIS WEEK’S RUMOR MILL IS ON!

, The American Craft Beer Rumor Mill – June 26, 2013Ommegang Takes the Black (Westeros) – In yet another take on their brilliant craft beer and pop culture mashup, Brewery Ommegang has announced the second in their highly anticipated Game of Thrones releases. Take the Black Stout is inspired by George R. R. Martin’s men of the Night’s Watch, and if you’re a fan of HBO’s adult-fantasy, you know what we’re talking about! The label features the sacred Weirwood tree, where men such as Jon Snow, who worship the old gods, take the Night’s Watch oath.

Rock Trumps Bluegrass Last Weekend (Dover, De / Telluride, Co) – At least its craft beers did! We reported in Monday’s QUICK HITS that Dogfish Head Brewery went through an amazing 700 kegs of beer at last weekend’s Firefly Festival in Dover, Delaware. And we just heard via New Belgium Instagram that New Belgium sold 623 kegs of beer, over four days of music, at this past weekend’s Telluride Bluegrass Festival.

, The American Craft Beer Rumor Mill – June 26, 2013Marble Brewery Pays Tribute to Breaking Bad (Albuquerque, NM) – It would appear that Albuquerque-based Marble Brewery, which has been featured in some of the series’ past episodes, will be brewing (and why wouldn’t they?) a Breaking Bad tribute beer to be featured during the final run of the Breaking Bad series that’s set to start shortly. According to Instagram | Breaking Bad locations, the beer will be an India Black Ale that they call “Heisenberg’s Dark.”

All Aboard! (London, UK) – Word has come down that Sir Richard Branson’s Virgin Trains has partnered with a local U.K. brewery to launch a brand of new beer specifically for the train ride. It’s called Tilting Ale, and Fox News is reporting that “it’s being brewed especially for Virgin Trains by Macclesfield’s RedWillow Brewery.” Leave it to American Craft Beer to ask the tough questions….What will they brew for his space flights?

New Breweries May Revive Over-the-Rhine (Cincinnati, OH) – At least that’s what Cincinnati’s City Council is hoping for. Over-the-Rhine is a picturesque Cincinnati neighborhood north of downtown that’s fallen on hard times that may soon be reborn as a brewing district, according to TribLive. They go on to report that “most people don’t know that Cincinnati was one of the biggest brewing centers in the country.”

A Rumor Mill Release You Want to Look Out For

Cigar City Brewing recently introduced the latest beer in their Torcedores Series. Sean’s Hoppy Session Ale is their 4.4% ABV “sessioner” that’s brewed for hot weather and power-drinking. This limited edition release is currently only available at their tasting room – but we think it’s well worth traveling for!
