, The American Craft Beer Rumor Mill – July 20, 2016Game Of Thrones Beer Gets A Name (Cooperstown, NY) – After a riveting sixth season that saw the Starks reclaim the North and Cersei take the Iron Throne as the first queen of Westeros, Brewery Ommegang and HBO Global Licensing are announcing a new beer in an effort to steady the nerves of fans going through Game Of Thrones withdrawal and bringing back a previous GOT release, Valar Morghulis Dubbel Ale to tide you over. The forthcoming beer in the series Valar Dohaeris Tripel Ale, pays homage to Arya’s season-long struggles to become “the girl with no name” within the House of Black and White. But, unfortunately, it won’t be hitting retail till October 10th, so you’re stuck with Valar Morghulis until then.

Houston’s Beer Community Humiliates A Shamed Windy City (USA) – According to a new data drop from market research firm IRI Houston is now drinking a lot more beer than a “once competitive” Chicago…Just sayin’.

, The American Craft Beer Rumor Mill – July 20, 2016Ska Goes Mod (Durango, CO) – After months in the works, Ska Brewing has unveiled their new Mod Brewery, a separate spinoff from their primary brewery dedicated to small batch beers and blended creations. This new designer outlet now offers specialty one-off brews on eight rotating taps and experimental offerings on a year-round basis.

AndDon’t Forget…GABF Tickets Go On Sale In August (Denver, CO) – Because we know how forgetful you can get we’re reminding you again, that tickets to the Great American Beer Festival, which is returning to Denver on October 6th-8th , will be going on sale soon. Tickets to this year’s celebration will be available for purchase to the general public online on August 3rd at 10 am EST via Ticketmaster.com. And as always, a ticket pre-sale, exclusively for members of the American Homebrewers Association and Brewers Association, will take place on August 2nd EST. This year’s beerganza promises to be the best ever So mark your calendars people, because tickets to this fantastic event tend to sell out immediately, and we shouldn’t have to remind you again.

What We’ve Been Drinking Lately (Washington, DC) – We’d like to thank all the breweries who ship us beer from time to time. It’s always great to sample the brews that we write about and helps to give us a better feel for what’s happening out there. Last night we hit up something we recently received from Gonzo’s BiggDogg Brewing. Geyser Brown Ale is a big (7.1% ABV!) award-winning Brown Ale with a rich and nutty caramel finish. And finish it, we did!
