, The American Craft Beer Rumor Mill – July 13, 2016GABF Tickets Go On Sale August 3rd (Denver, CO) – For the 35th year in a row, craft beer fans will be making a pilgrimage to Colorado, for the Great American Beer Festival, which is returning to ‘The Mile High City on October 6th-8th. Tickets to this year’s celebration will be available for purchase to the general public online on August 3rd at 10 am EST via Ticketmaster.com. And as always, a ticket pre-sale, exclusively for members of the American Homebrewers Association and Brewers Association, will take place on August 2nd EST. This year’s beerganza promises to be the best ever So mark your calendars people, because tickets to this fantastic event tend to sell out immediately.

Big Beer Biz Comings & Goings (Cooperstown, NY / Chico, CA) – Big changes at Ommegang and Sierra Nevada. In the east, Duvel Moortgat USA has announced that Doug Campbell, a 12-year beer and spirits industry veteran, will be joining Brewery Ommegang as President effective August 1st. In the west, Sierra Nevada’ Brewmaster (and ACB fav) Steve Dressler has announced that he’ll be retiring in early 2017.

, The American Craft Beer Rumor Mill – July 13, 2016Stone Releases Their First Richmond Brewed Beers (Virginia) – Stone Brewing’s new east coast operation released their first beers at a public event held last Friday. According to the Richmond Times-Dispatch, Stone IPA, as well as the beer’s “Virginia Brewery Prototype,” were the first two releases to be kegged at Stone’s new 220,000-square-foot plant and both are being offered this week throughout the Richmond area.

What We’ve Been Drinking Lately (Washington, DC) – We’d like to thank all the breweries who ship us beer from time to time. It’s always great to sample the brews that we write about and helps to give us a better feel for what’s happening out there. Last night we hit up something we recently received from Gonzo’s BiggDogg Brewing. Magic Trick Hefeweizen is a 6% ABV award-winning Wheat Ale with a balanced fruity spiciness and an almost fluorescent hazy glow.
