American Craft Beer Blows National Beer Day – While national media, basement bloggers and craft beer industry gurus seized on Monday being National Beer Day, American Craft Beer completely missed the boat. At 8pm eastern, the Portland correspondent sent out a dispatch noting the faux paux. In a belated attempt, the Nebraska correspondent snapped a quick Instagram drinking a Three Floyds, then various affiliated twitter accounts blew up with late-breaking boasts about WHAT TODAY MEANS(!). In reflection, Founder and Editor-In-Chief Tom Bobak lamented that “we just didn’t get out in front of it. I mean, we’ve been going full-bore on CBC coverage and since it doesn’t include Craft Beer in the name, it just didn’t cross my desk.” Sure Tom… better luck next time.
