We blame the industry for this… It used to be that when we wrapped up our Weekend Picks on Friday, we could coast through the weekend. There was little need to check in for updates – things were pretty much done. But clearly all that’s changed.

So here’s some of what’s happened in the world of craft beer while you were off enjoying yourself.

Dogfish Cans Coming Soon? (Milton, DE) – Dogfish Head, A major hold-out to the “craft beer in cans” movement may be joining the parade soon, if this tweet from Chris Furnari at Brewbound proves true.

Beer Summit In Brew City (Milwaukee, WI) – This Thursday, the 3rd annual Milwaukee Beer Summit is returning to “Brew City” as they once again gather leading craft brewers from across the United States and regional retailers to discuss industry trends and product plans and to drink unreasonable amounts of serious beer. This year’s festivities are being held at Lakefront Brewery, and will feature sampling by more than 20 craft , THE AMERICAN CRAFT BEER – QUICK HITSbreweries, as well as a panel discussion with industry players such as Tom Cardella, John Leinenkugel and Russ Klisch. 

Liquid Center Launches (Ashville, NC) – New Belgium recently threw open the doors to their new East Coast tasting room, and it appears to have been worth the wait. The 6,000 square foot, Liquid Center, which includes both indoor and outdoor seating, was met by lines of fans from all over the state, anxious to experience the ambiance and a Fat Tire.
