Newbies – The All-IPA Edition

It’s no surprise that IPAs are the most dominant style in the in the craft beer biz…They’re really what drives much of the public’s attention and as close to an “essential style” as our industry has. With that in mind (and because we’ve been receiving a lot of IPA’s lately), it’s time for a Newbies All-IPA Edition…And really, who’s gonna complain about that?

, Newbies – The All-IPA EditionInto The Great Beyond (Cooperstown, NY) – Ommegang has released their newest big IPA since being named Champion Mid-Sized Brewer at this year’s World Beer Cup and it’s a hop-forward feast. Built to continue the legacy established last year by their Nirvana IPA, Ommegang’s Great Beyond is an 8.8% ABV Double India Pale Ale with a juicy fruit-forward hop character and a resinous pine undertone.

A “Without Delay” IPA (Bellaire & Elk Rapids, MI) – Short’s has a new release that they will be packaging and distribute the beer within 24 hours – allowing customers to enjoy this beer on the same day it was packaged! Short’s Psychedelic Cat Grass as a triple dry hopped 7.1% ABV American India Pale Ale with a pineapple, mango and grapefruit nose and a hazy orange color.

, Newbies – The All-IPA EditionHop Insurrection (San Leandro, CA) – 21st Amendment is returning an Insurrection Series fav that’s been brewed for the first time at their new San Leandro brewery. 21st Amendment’s Hop Crisis is a massive 9.7% ABV Imperial IPA. And just to keep things interesting, they’ve really changed up this year’s hop menu.

Citradelic (Winston-Salem. NC) – Foothills Brewing has a new Hop of the Month Series release and it’s out there now.  Foothills Citra IPA, showcases this beloved hop’s aromatic and citrusy qualities in this 6.7% ABV, exceedingly well-balanced, limited edition refresher.

, Newbies – The All-IPA EditionA Classic And Still One Of Their Most Popular (San Diego, CA) – We thought we’d end this segment of our “All-IPA Newbies” with a classic from Ballast Point that helped fuel the movement and remains a force today. A trophy beer that is hopped at five separate stages, Ballast Point Sculpin India Pale is a 7% ABV gold-medal winning IPA that’s spawned a world of imitations, but few peers.
