Plus we’ve some interesting new releases from Shmaltz and Left Hand Brewing that you’ll want to get your sweaty little hands on.
Adventure-Minded (Lexington, VA) – Last week, we spent a fun night out drinking beer with Jason Oliver and the Devils Backbone team. They were showcasing their new collaboration “Adventure Pack” that is made up of one of their award-winning flagship beers (Eight Point IPA) and three special collaborations that they brewed with Ninkasi, Coronado, and Fat Head’s Brewery.
Adventure Pack Collaborations include….
Devils Tale, a 7.5% ABV Black India Pale Ale that they brewed with Coronado’s Ryan Brooks. It’s a dark, rich, hop-forward brew that’s tethered to a hearty malt backbone.
The Devil Went Down To Oregon, a 7.2% ABV Imperial Rye Ale that Devils Backbone brewed with Ninkasi’s Jamie Floyd. It’s a hoppy dark ale that drinks like a Lager and showcases a blend of new and old world hops.
Double Gooch is their collaboration with Fat Head’s Matt Brooks. It’s an 8% ABV Imperial “International” Pale Ale that gets its bright hop character from an exotic combination of Australian, New Zealand, German, and US hops.
In the Depths of De’Nile (Longmont, CO) – Left Hand Brewing currently has a special collaboration out that’s available now at select Old Chicago restaurants throughout the country. Left Hand’s De’Nile Coffee Ale is a 5.5% ABV Amber Ale that was brewed with Allegro Coffee’s Blue Nile BLEND and lactose.
Funky Jewbelation (Clifton Park, NY) – Shmaltz Brewing is returning a special blended release that you need to track down. Shmaltz’s 2015 Funky Jewbelation is a massive 9.4% ABV ale that features an exotic blend of six ales and lagers aged in bourbon and rye whiskey barrels.
