Newbies – New Releases That You Want to Look Out For

So many beers, So little time… When a brewery releases a new spring seasonal in the frigid depths of winter – it had better be good – and this one may well be. We’ll have more on that, plus we’ve some interesting new releases from Firestone Walker and Heavy Seas that you’ll want to track down.

, Newbies – New Releases That You Want to Look Out ForWestbrook Celebrates! (Mount Pleasant, SC) – Westbrook has brewed up something special for their anniversary and you need to get on this. Westbrook 4th Anniversary is a 10% ABV Imperial Stout that’s brewed dark and rich with chocolate, toasted coconut, and roasted almonds. Westbrook 4th Anniversary: Chocolate Coconut Almond Imperial Stout is available in 22 oz. bottles and draft — so you know what to do.

, Newbies – New Releases That You Want to Look Out ForBoston Releases Two Rebels (Boston, MA)  Sam Adams has just released two new additions to their Rebel IPA Series and they are a study in contrasts. Samuel Adams Rebel Rouser is a big 8.4% ABV unapologetically hop-forward Double that’s brewed with more than five pounds of hops per barrel. At the other end of the IPA spectrum is Samuel Adams Rebel Rider, a bold yet mellow Session IPA with all the hop character of a classic West Coast-style IPA but with a lighter body at 45 IBUs and 4.5% ABV.

Bocking The Trend (San Jose, CA) – Even though some of you are still fighting snow drifts, it’s clearly May Day if Gordon Biersch’s newest release is any indication. Maibock means the “bock beer of May” and Gordon Biersch Maibock is an American take on the late spring tradition. Available now, this 7.3% ABV German-style lager that gets its flavor from super-heavy doses of dark roasted caramel malt may leave you wrapped around the maypole.
