Newbies – New Releases That You Want to Look Out For

So many beers, So little time… Firestone Walker is returning a legendary brew that’s nearly un-pronounceable (not to mention, practically impossible to spell). We’ll have more on that for you – plus we’ve some new releases from Bell’s and Heavy Seas Beer that you’ll need to chase down.

, Newbies – New Releases That You Want to Look Out For Tea Time (Escondido, CA) –Stone Brewing is revisiting a particular collaboration that was originally brewed in 2011 with Guam’s Ishii Brewing Co. and Japan-based Baird Brewing Company. Baird / Ishii / Stone Japanese Green Tea IPA is brewed with Japanese sencha green tea and five different hops, including Sorachi Ace, a varietal originally developed in Japan. This beloved 10.1% ABV IPA will begin arriving this week in 22 oz. bottles and on draft wherever Stone beer is sold – so get ready to tea-off.

Desert Isle Beer (Baltimore, MD) – Heavy Seas Beer just introduced a brand-new, draft-only program, they call the Desert Island Series. This programfeatures “one-off” releases of beers designed by individual members of the Heavy Seas brewing team. Each release will be limited to only 100 barrels available at select locations within Heavy Seas’ 18-state distribution footprint. The first beer in the series, coming out in February, is the dark amber, 8% ABV Desert Island Scottish Ale. This malt-forward highlands homage was conceived and executed by Heavy Seas Team Leader Chris Schultz and we’re psyched for him.

, Newbies – New Releases That You Want to Look Out ForHopslam 2015 (Kalamazoo, MI) – We just received a communiqué from the Bell’s Brewery crew and they’re telling us that this year’s Hopslam will begin rolling out to Michigan and Missouri this week (lucky bastards!) and that Virginia, DC, North Carolina, Wisconsin, South Carolina, Alabama, Georgia, Pennsylvania, and California can expect it to start arriving the following week (Jan 19th).

, Newbies – New Releases That You Want to Look Out For§ucaba Cometh (Paso Robles, CA) – The Firestone Walker Brewing Company is set to release its first Proprietor’s Vintage Series beer of 2015 and it’s an ACB “must-have.” Firestone Walker §ucaba is a tongue-twisting, barrel-aged Barleywine that’s been a brewery staple since 2006 and is actually a blend of two separate beers, according to Brewmaster Matt Brynildson. The base beer is what you would call §ucaba, but each year, the final blend also includes around 10 percent of another barrel-aged beer, which gives it this chocolaty, dark cherry dimension.

River North In A Quandary (Denver, CO) – River North is releasing something special at their brewery next weekend (Jan 17th) and if you’re a fan of their legendary Big City Quad, you’re probably already in line for this one. A blend of Quandary aged in rye and bourbon barrels, River North Whiskey Barrel Quandary is a 12.7% ABV bourbon-infused blast of awesomeness that can be savored now or cellared for years.
