Brewhouse Rarities Says Goodbye To 2014 (Frederick, MD) – The last release of the year from Flying Dog’s popular Brewhouse Rarities Series is on its way – so be ready. Flying Dog Brewhouse Rarities Doppelbock is an 8.3% ABV take on the German tradition and it’s available now on draft and in bottles all throughout the mid-Atlantic.

A Super IPA Returns (Ft Collins, CO) – New Belgium and San Diego’s Alpine Beer have come together once again to celebrate IPAs. It’s a rare second visit for a New Belgium Hop KitchenSeries beer but this collaboration, first released in August of 2012, just begged for another round. New Belgium / Alpine Hop Kitchen Super IPA is a draft-only release this time aroundbut it’s still 9% ABV and bursting with Amarillo, Columbus, Simcoe, and Centennial hops, and you need to be chasing it down.

Whiskey Trained (Denver, CO) – The River North Brewery has got something very special returning on December 13! Roaring in at a screaming 11.5%ABV, River North Barrel Aged Avarice is a Belgian-style Imperial Stout aged one year in rye and bourbon whiskey barrels that we can’t wait to get our hands on!

A Northwest Passage (Portland, OR) – Widmer Brothers and Deschutes Brewery have banded together and brewed up something special that will be released as part of Widmer’s 30th Anniversary Collaboration Series. AltBitter is a unique blend of two styles that each brewery is known for: Deschutes Brewery’s Bachelor Bitter and Widmer Brothers Brewing’s Altbier. Imperial versions of both classics were brewed and aged separately in rye whiskey barrels for eight months. AltBitter is a two-thirds blend of the barrel-aged versions of each beer with one-third non-barrel-aged beer. The result is a hoppy ale with a big, malty backbone, which pays homage to the breweries’ respective German and English influences, yet is still uniquely Oregon. This special collaboration ale is available starting today in 22 oz. bottles and on draft – with limited distribution in select markets, including Portland, Seattle, San Francisco, San Diego, Minneapolis, New York City, Boston, and Philadelphia.
