Expect Some Accumulation (Ft. Collins, CO) – With legendary snows already falling in the upper Midwest this week, winter seasonals are making more sense than ever – and New Belgium’s got one you should know about. New Belgium Accumulation White IPA is all about the hops and the wheat. This 6.4% ABV Pale Ale drinks creamy and pours white-gold. And it’s out there now, but you may need to act soon, because there is snow in the forecast -somewhere.
Hog Heaven (Oxford, CT) – The Black Hog Brewing Company has just released the second beer from its single-hop The Hop Collective Series and we’re happy for them. Black Hog THC Bravo is a 5.5% ABV Pale Ale brewed to showcase the Bravo hop in all its glory and we look forward to chasing this one down.
Mother of All Storms This Weekend (Pacific City, OR) – Pelican Brewing is getting ready to release a monstrous winter seasonal and they’re not apologizing for it. Pelican’s Mother of All Storms is an enormous (14% ABV!) bourbon barrel-aged English-style Barleywine.Because the quantities of “Mother” are so limited, Pelican will be opening its doors at 8 a.m. this Saturday, November 15, making “mom” available to those waiting outside the brewery who have weathered the elements.
Dry Dock Doubles Down (Aurora, CO) – Dry Dock Brewing has a new Signature Series small-batch release and they’re bottling it this week. Dry Dock Double Vanilla Porter doubles down on just about everything. And at 9.3% ABV, this 22 oz. bomber release is a massive beer – so know what you’re getting into.
At The Intersection of Culinary and Craft (Bend, OR) – Deschutes’ newest limited release is a collaboration with renowned Chef José Andrés – and they’ve definitely got our attention. Deschutes Zarabanda is a spiced Saison that reflects Andrés’ innovative use of authentic and distinct flavors. This 6.7% ABV Farmhouse-style Saison was brewed using lemon verbena, pink peppercorn, sumac, and dried lime to offset a complex malt body. The brewery recently announced plans to start distributing its beers in the Washington, DC area. Launch events are planned for November 18- 20 to celebrate this collaboration and Deschutes’ expansion to the region.
