With so many breweries releasing so many beers of late, we thought it might be useful to present a weekly update to help us all keep up with all the new releases that are coming out.

So, welcome to this week's edition of Newbies - our weekly guide to new releases you want to look out for!

El Dorado Found!

Flying Dog Brewery launched their "Single Hop Imperial IPA" series last year with four varieties in draft only. This week they are launching Single Hop Imperial IPA with EL Dorado, and it's the first of this series to be not only available on draft but also in six-packs of 12 oz. bottles! El Dorado hops are not that common to begin with - so a single hop Imperial brewed only using El Dorado hops promises to be something special. El Dorado is aggressive, clocking in at 10% ABV – so fasten your seatbelt!

The Essence of Beer

Hangar 24 Craft Brewery's "Local Fields" series is comprised of six specialty beers, each brewed once per year featuring locally sourced ingredients. The brewery's June release of Essence is a Double IPA brewed with navel oranges, blood oranges and grapefruit all grown in Hangar 24's hometown of Redlands, CA. Southern California distribution (draught and 22oz. bottles) of Essence will begin the week of June 4th.

Raspberry Wheat to Return

Alaskan Brewing's Raspberry Wheat Ale 2012 release should be hitting the streets this week. Alaskan Raspberry Wheat Ale is an American take on the Belgian limbic and returns as their Pilot Series summer release.

It's Time for Storm chasing

Free State Brewing's Stormchaser Summer IPA better be on your radar, because it's coming out soon. Stormchaser Summer IPA is a sessionable "golden" with a citrusy hop flavor, and it is hitting retail this week.

Unleashing the Beast!

Mississippi's Lazy Magnolia Brewing is releasing a monster on July 1st! Timber Beast is an Imperial Rye IPA that clocks in at 8.5% ABV and is the first brew in Lazy Magnolia's Back Porch Series. Timber Beast will be available in 4 packs and on draught.

Summer's Coming

Black Raven Brewing's summer seasonal, Hochzeit Pilsner, is now available. This classic summer lager, which is brewed each year in limited quantities, will also be available to go in 22oz bottles.

Say Aloha to Wailua

Kona Brewing Company's Wailua Wheat is hitting the mainland and will be available now through September 2012. Now in its fifth year of production, Wailua Wheat is brewed with real passion fruit puree as the key tropical ingredient in this Aloha Series craft beer.

Alpha Session Alert

Drake's Brewing's newest addition to their seasonal line-up, Alpha Session, is out now and going fast. Alpha Session is just that, a hoppy session ale (3.8% ABV, 50 IBUs) and is now available on tap and in stores throughout California
