Newbies – New Releases That You Want to Look Out For

So many beers, So little time… Imperials define this week’s newbies and we’ve a number of new ones that you’ll want to chase down…Plus we’ve some new releases from Firestone Walker and Terrapin Beer that sound serious as well.

, Newbies – New Releases That You Want to Look Out ForDoubling Down On Liberty (San Francisco, CA) – Anchor Brewing recently released the latest from their Argonaut Collection. Described as radically traditional, Anchor Double Liberty IPA is an 8.2% “Imperial” version of their classic that unapologetically doubles-down on just about everything that made their Liberty Ale such a game changer.

Electric Appeal (South Burlington, VT) – The Magic Hat Brewing Company has a new year-round addition to their portfolio that’s got people talking. Magic Hat Electric Peel is a 6% Grapefruit IPA that’s brewed with Apollo and Centennial hops tethered to a medium malt body and electrified with real grapefruit peel.

, Newbies – New Releases That You Want to Look Out ForA Dangerous Blonde (Paso Robles, CA) – Firestone Walker has a new Proprietor’s Vintage Series release set for July 18th – but you should know it’s a Blonde and  things could get dangerous. Helldorado is a massive 12% barrel-aged Blonde Barleywine and it does sound like trouble. This 2015 hellion is limited to 3,500 cases of 22 oz. bottles so expect fights to break out.

Imperial Farmhouse (Athens, GA) – Terrapin Beer has a special Reserve Series beer that we recently got our hands on. Maggie’s Blackberry Cobbler Imperial Farmhouse Ale is an 8.5% Saison-style Ale made with fresh blackberries and graham crackers for a taste you won’t soon forget. This beer is like a liquid dessert after a home-cooked meal.

, Newbies – New Releases That You Want to Look Out ForBreaking the Beer Barrel Bank (Boulder, CO) – Avery has just released the latest from their coveted Barrel Aged Series. This release breaks the bank, as the brewery filled the rarest and most expensive barrels they have in their arsenal and we’ve got to admit it does sound awesome. Avery Ill Dolia is an 8.2% American Wild Ale. 44% of this blend was aged in Madeira, 31% in Cabernet Sauvignon, and 25% Carcavelos barrels.
