So many beers- So little time… Peaches define a number of this week’s newbies – but in wildly different and unexpected ways. We’ll have more on those for you…plus some new releases from Anchorage and Stone that sound serious as well.
Just Peachy (Boulder, CO) – Avery Brewing has a new summer seasonal coming out and it sounds just peachy. Dutch for peach, Avery Perzik Saison is a 6.4% ABV Saison. Its available now on draft as well as in bottles and cans.
Just Peachy II (Milton, DE) – Even more exercises in peachiness and this one’s from the Dogfish Head crew. Timed to coincide perfectly with the sweaty months, Dogfish Head is returning a beloved summer seasonal. Festina Peche a 4.5% ABV intensely tart neo-Berliner Weisse that’s infused with peach purée just to keep things interesting.
Just Peachy III (Manhattan, KS) – Tallgrass Beer has a new summer seasonal coming out this week and it’s brewed using peaches as well. Sessionable and refreshing, Tallgrass Ginger Peach Saison is effervescent, tart and fruity, and sports a light body and dry finish. And true to theTallgrass tradition, this summertime newbie will be available in 4-packs of 16oz cans.
A Prosaic Mosaic That’s Not Brewed With Peaches (Anchorage, AL) – The Anchorage Brewing Company has a recent release that’s finally hitting shelves in the “Lower 48.” Anchorage Mosaic Saison is a 6.4% ABV Oak-aged Saison that’s brewed only with Mosaic hops, and is fermented using two Saison yeasts, and two strains of Brettanomyces.
Aztec Love (Kansas City, MO) – Boulevard Brewing has a new Smokestack Series Imperial Stout release that sounds very interesting. Imperial Stout X – Aztec Chocolate is an enormous 11% ABV Imperial Stout with chocolate, cinnamon and chili peppers, that takes its lead from an ancient native chocolate mixture that was widely celebrated as an aphrodisiac among other things.
