Hall Of Famed (San Diego, CA) – AleSmith Brewing is commemorating a baseball legend with a second beer that’s part of the brewery’s 20th Anniversary Specialty Release Series.AleSmith Hall of Fame Imperial San Diego Pale Ale honors the late great Tony Gwynn, who would have turned 55 this year.
Monkey Business (Paso Robles, CA) – Firestone Walker will soon be returning something very special and we’re psyched! Firestone Walker’s 2015 Stickee Monkee is a beer meticulously brewed in the classic Belgian Quadrupel style, but aged for more than a year in retired bourbon barrels to create a stylistic outlier now known as a “Central Coast Quad.” Its name is a nod to the native Sticky Monkey flower that thrives in the mountains along California’s Central Coast, as well as a shout-out to the Belgian monks who pioneered the Quad style. 2015’s Monkee will be limited to 3,500 cases of 22 oz. bottles – so this is something you need to move on when you see it.
Barrels & Botanicals (Boulder CO) – Avery has just released the newest from their Barrels & Botanicals Series and we’re anxious to get our hands on a bottle. Avery Raspberry Sour is a 7.2% ABV Wild Ale brewed with luscious ripe red raspberries, elegantly soured in oak barrels. It’s available now in 22 oz. bottles – so you know what to do.
East Meets West (Atlanta, GA) – If you’ve not as yet had the opportunity to sample beer from the Second Self Beer Company – well you need to. And Second Self Thai Wheat is an excellent place to start. Touching down at a reasonable 5.1% ABV, this spicy American Wheat Ale is as complex and exotic as the country that inspired it. Brewed with both lemongrass and ginger, this is a Wheat to beat and it’s available now in cans as well as on draft.
Catching Lightning In A Bottle (Ft Collins, CO) – New Belgium has a new collaboration beer coming out that they brewed with Do Lab, the creators of Calif.’s Lightning in a Bottle Music & Lifestyle Festival. Lightning in a Bottle is a 3.5% ABV limited-edition Berliner Weisse that will make its debut at 2015’s festival (May21st-May 25th) and at the “Under the Summer Sun” event series later this season.
