, Newbies – New Craft Beer Releases That You Want to Look Out For – July 8, 2014Founders Goes Dark! (Grand Rapid, MI) – Founders Brewing has announced the newest addition to their lineup of IPAs and it’s a dark one. The first new beer to be added to the brewery’s lineup since All Day IPA,Founders Dark Penance is an 8.5% ABV Imperial India Pale Ale that’s dark as night and just as bitter. Dark Penance will follow up Double Trouble in Founders’ specialty calendar, and should be available on draft and in bottles in October.

Squatter’s Wee Peats Themselves (Salt Lake City, UT) – Squatters Craft Beers has crafted one that will stand up to repetition.Squatters Wee Peat Scottish Ale is a complex 5.6% ABV malt-forward ale and the newest addition to their year-round lineup.

Heavy Seas Once Again Walks the Plank (Baltimore, MD) – Heavy Seas Beer is venturing into Uncharted Waters with their latest series release. The PLANK project is about beers aged in rarely used woods. The first commercially available beer to be aged on Jamaican Allspice wood, Heavy Seas Plank III is a robust 8.55% ABV Belgian Tripel with hints of white pepper, a dense head, and a creamy mouthfeel. And it’s out there now – so you know what to do!

, Newbies – New Craft Beer Releases That You Want to Look Out For – July 8, 2014A Road Less Taken (Stratford, CT) – Two Roads Brewing Company is proud to announce the return of something very special. Latin for “road of the heart,” Two Roads Via Cordis is a Belgian-style Single Abbey Ale that honors the centuries-old link between religious abbeys and beer. It was created collaboratively by Two Roads’ Brewmaster Phil Markowski and Sacred Heart University biology professors Geffrey Stopper and Kirk Bartholomew. Look for this relatively low alcohol (5.5% ABV) Abby Blonde to start hitting retail in mid-July.

Full Sail Gets a Little Shiftie (Hood River, OR) – July is Oregon Craft Beer Month and to celebrate, Full Sail Brewing has released a new Brewer’s Share Series brew. This “shiftie” (what the crew calls after-work beers) was crafted by Brewer Francisco Farias Martinez to commemorate a beer that he had on his first day of work at Full Sail. Refreshing and highly drinkable, Full Sail Farias Clara Helles Lager is available now on draft and in 22 oz. bottles.
