, Newbies – New Craft Beer Releases That You Want to Look Out For – April 1, 2014The Dragons are Coming (Cooperstown, NY) – Timed to coincide with the return of HBO’s epic adult fantasy, Brewery Ommegang started rolling out the third beer in their Game of Thrones series this week.Fire and Blood is a spicy, 6.8% ABV Red Ale that’s subtly hopped and brewed with ancho chiles. Ommegang Fire and Blood Red Ale will feature three collectable labels created by the Game of Thrones visual effects specialists, highlighting each of the Khaleesi’s protective dragons. These will be randomly distributed amongst the cases; each case will contain all three bottles.

Summertime and The Living is Easy (Paso Robles, CA) – If you read us regularly (and we can’t imagine why you wouldn’t), you know that we’re pretty much in the tank for Firestone Walker and appreciate just about everything they do. So we’re psyched to hear rumors that their 4.5% ABV Easy Jack Summer Session IPA will be available soon in 12 oz. bottles.

Going Haywire (Minneapolis, MN) – The Indeed Brewing Company has just moved what was once a specialty-only release into their spring lineup and we’re excited they did! Haywire Double American Black Ale is exactly that – a 10% ABV “Double” that’s brewed dark as night and hopped out of its mind. Haywire is out there now on draft and in750ml bottles!

, Newbies – New Craft Beer Releases That You Want to Look Out For – April 1, 2014Rhumpshaka Road Trip (Easton, PA) – Weyerbacher Brewing Co. is bringing back a rum-barrel legend on April 18. Weyerbacher Rhumpshaka started life as an almost nondescript 11% ABV beer using 80% Pilsner malt and 20% oats that spent more than 9 dangerous months in 12 old rum barrels. The resulting beer is an unfiltered monster with an unrepentant boozy character and a huge coconut and passion fruit-like nose. This is a special one-off release that comes in 750ml bottles with cork and cage – but will only be available at Weyerbacher’s Visitor Center in Easton – so it’s road-trip time!
