Newbies – 5 New Craft Beers You Need To Check Out

So many beers- So little time… Winter is undeniably here, and with it the beers of the season. And we’ve a number of interesting new offerings that you’ll want to chase down…We’ve also a recent collaboration from The Commons and Modern Times that sounds pretty serious as well.

, Newbies – 5 New Craft Beers You Need To Check OutOaked Rot (Milton, DE) – Dogfish Head will soon be shipping a special oak-aged variation of their unique grape wine/beer hybrid. A surprise mid-January release, Dogfish Head Oak-aged Noble Rot is a 9% ABV Fruit Beer (w/grapes) that was fermented using Belgian yeast and aged in oak barrels for over a year.

A Beer of Stellar Proportions (Portland, OR) – Ecliptic Brewing is retuning something special that was the talk of the Portland and the Seattle International Beer Fests last year. Described as a “beer of stellar proportions,” Ecliptic Triple India Pale Ale is an enormous 12% IPA brewed with almost senseless amounts of Simcoe, Amarillo, Motueka, Azacca, Calypso, Cascade, Chinook, and Columbus hops.

, Newbies – 5 New Craft Beers You Need To Check OutGrizzled Guzzling (Manhattan, KS) – Tallgrass Brewing has a new Explorer Series release – and it sounds aggressive. Marked by its fierce hop character and its pronounced fruit-like aroma The Grizz is a massive 9.5% Imperial India Pale Ale that’s available now through March

A Common Good For Modern Times (Portland, OR) – The Commons recently released their first collaboration for Modern Times Beer and one of the first beers brewed at The Commons’ new brewery location. Made during last year’s Craft Brewers Conference in Portland, Good Problems is a rustic Saison that was fermented with a mixed culture featuring Brettanomyces from both breweries and aged on Nebbiolo wine grapes from Mosier, Oregon. The result is a bottle conditioned beer-wine hybrid that’s fruity, dry, complex and available now.

, Newbies – 5 New Craft Beers You Need To Check OutJava Stoked (Athens, GA) – Working with their neighbors Jittery Joe’s Coffee, Terrapin Beer will be introducing a Single Origin Coffee Stout Series this month that sounds interesting. This series will consist of four different coffee stout variations – each using the same stout base with a different coffee bean strain used with each release. Terrapin Single Origin Coffee Stout Ethiopian will be the first in this series – so be ready!
