Newbies – 5 New Craft Beers That You Need To Check Out

So many beers- So little time… Fall is giving way to winter and with that comes the beers of the season – and we’ve a number of interesting new releases that you’ll want to chase down…Plus we’ve some very cool offerings from HUB and Adroit Theory that are serious as well.

, Newbies – 5 New Craft Beers That You Need To Check OutA Big Deal (Manhattan, KS) – Tallgrass Brewing has a new Explorer Series release that we think is kind of a big deal. Hitting shelves for the first time in October 2015, Big RICC is a massive 10.5% Russian Imperial Stout brewed with coffee and chocolate.

Black As Your Soul (Purcellville, VA) – If you’ve never visited Northwestern Virginia’s incredible nano-brewery, Adroit Theory, you need to. And you need to pick up a bottle of B/A/Y/S when you go. B/A/Y/S (Black As You Soul)Imperial Stout is an incredibly crafted and darkly nuanced 10% “Russian Imperial.” The bottle and label art alone are works of art and the beer itself, brilliant.

, Newbies – 5 New Craft Beers That You Need To Check OutSiberian Nights (Portland, OR) – Hopworks Urban Brewery has a new addition to their Imperial Series that we can’t wait to get our hands on. HUB’s 9.8% ABV Motherland Russian Imperial Stout is as black as a Siberian winter night but warming enough to weather it. Available November through February, this winter warmer is a fortifying tonic for the People!

A Tribute To Fritz (San Francisco, CA) – That’s what Anchor Brewing is calling their new barrel-aged homage to their founder, Fritz Maytag. Clocking in at what we consider to be a reasonable 7.5% ABV, Anchor Barrel Ale is four different Anchor beers, aged separately in Old Potrero Rye Whiskey barrels and then blended together.

, Newbies – 5 New Craft Beers That You Need To Check OutWinter’s Coming (Crozet, VA) – Starr Hill has a new cold-weather seasonal that you may need to chase down. A classic take on a monastic favorite, Starr Hill’s Snow Blind Doppelbock is a full-bodied 7.7% Strong Lager that was brewed with audacious amounts of German Munich and Caramunich malts.
