Newbies – 5 More Summer Craft Beers You Need To Check Out

So many warm weather beers, so little time. Summer is here  and so are the beers of summer. We’re all about them and we’ve some of this season’s best for you to check out. Plus we’ve some new releases from Anchorage and Two Roads Brewing that sound serious as well.

, Newbies – 5 More Summer Craft Beers You Need To Check OutSomething In Common (Alexandria, VA) – Port City Brewing is returning its legendary summer seasonal this month – so be ready. Port City Derecho California Common originated in 2012, when a massive storm rolled through the mid-Atlantic in June and knocked out power for about 5 million in the region. Port City’s power was out for five days, which left them unable to control the fermentation temperature of a tank of lager. As a result, the tank fermented at a higher temperature. The beer changed from a lager into a 4.8% ABV California Common and the summertime legend was born.

Hopped And Tart (Ft. Collins, CO) – New Belgium’s latest “draft-only” Hop Kitchen Series release was brewed with summer’s heat in mind. Hop Tart is a tropical twist on the American Sour, a 5% ABV combination of tartness and hops that’s a little bit like a Berliner Weisse (and not). To find Hop Tart near you, use New Belgium’s Libation Locater.

, Newbies – 5 More Summer Craft Beers You Need To Check OutJammin’ (Stratford, CT) – Two Roads Brewing’s latest summer seasonal is a celebration of lemongrass and fruit. Fruity and refreshingly dry, Road Jam Raspberry Wheat is a 5% ABV wheat ale fermented with real red and black raspberries and accented with fresh lemongrass. It has a stunning red color and mouth-watering berry aroma and it’s out there now – so you know what to do!

Hydro-Brewed (Gainesville, FL) – Summer beers are a specialty in Florida and Swamp Head brews are a great choice. Swamp Head’s Hydroslide is crisp, clean, and lightly dry-hopped 4.9% ABV Kölsch-style ale that’s brewed with the region’s endless summers in mind.

, Newbies – 5 More Summer Craft Beers You Need To Check OutThe Pigs Of War (Portland, OR) – Summers are different in the Pacific Northwest than in other places – and Hopworks Urban Brewery understands that better than most. Pig War White IPA is a summertime hybrid, one part NW IPA, the other an American Wheat Ale. Brewed with Hard Spring Wheat grown on their San Juan Island farm exclusively for Hopworks, this 6% ABV warm weather seasonal is a truly refreshing twist on two tried and true favorites.
