So many beers- So little time… Fall is giving way to winter and with that comes the beers of the season – and we’ve a number of interesting new releases that you’ll want to chase down…Plus we’ve some interesting new offerings from Left Hand and Summit Brewing that are serious as well.
The Storm Has Arrived (Portland, OR) – Breakside is returning a popular dry-hopped sour that they debuted as a small batch offering in 2014. Breakside LA Tormenta (the storm) is a 7% American Wild/Sour Ale that uses a blend of citrus-y, tropical hops to offset the beer’s super strong sour notes.
Giving Up The Gose (Ashville, NC) – Wicked Weed Brewing recently introduced the second addition to their Most Gose Series. Brewed using copious amounts of wheat and spiced with salt and coriander Wicked Weed’s Tropicmost Passionfruit Gose adds passionfruit into the mix, for a fruity aroma and refreshingly salty finish.
Bitter / Sweet (Longmont, CO) – Left Hand Brewing has just introduced something new that combines two of our favorite things – coffee and serious beer. Left Hand Bittersweet Imperial Coffee Milk Stout is a 9.5% shot of milky sweet stout melded with Colorado’s Allegro Coffee Mocha Java Blend.
Winter’s Coming (Baltimore, MD) – Heavy Seas has a new cold-weather seasonal release that’s part of their Uncharted Waters Series. Heavy SeasYule Tide is a full-bodied 9% Weizen Doppelbock Ale that’s been aged with ginger in rum barrels.
Laggards & Blaggards (St Paul, MN) – Summit Brewing has released the latest from their vaunted Union Series and it pays homage to the great strong ales associated with Burton-on-Trent from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Summit Old Blaggard is a 10.1% English-style Barleywine and it’s available now on draft and in 12oz bottle 4-packs.
