, Newbies – New Releases That You Want to Look Out ForMuddy Waters (Chicago, IL) – The Goose Island Beer Company has just released the third beer from their Imperial Series and we’re pretty psyched about it! Goose Island’s The Muddy pays homage to the 1940s Chicago Blues scene and the musicians who amplified a classic sound. It’s also a special edition 10.1% ABV Imperial Stout brewed with brewer’s licorice and Belgian rock candi sugar. It’s out there now – but won’t be forever – so you know what to do.

, Newbies – New Releases That You Want to Look Out ForSubstantial (Portland, ME) – Bissell Brothers Brewing Company is one of a number of small breweries that are shaking things up in Maine, and their hop-forward “The Substance Ale” is generating huge buzz. Described as an American IPA, this 6.5% ABV hop-forward, year-round brew has begun to attract Heady Topper-like attention and is a beer you need to get your hands on somehow.

Of The Earth (Fort Collins, CO) – New Belgium Brewing will soon be rolling out the newest from their Lips of Faith Series – so be ready. Named using a French term meaning “of the earth,” Le Terroir is a dry-hopped American sour ale with the bold, hoppy nose of an American IPA and all the pucker of a dynamite sour. “Our wooden barrels age sour beer in varying temperatures, humidity and vibrations,” said New Belgium’s Specialty Brand Manager Lauren Salazar. “Add in another variable by dry-hopping with peachy, mango-like Amarillo hops and we’ve created a beer that changes every time we brew it.”Le Terroir is 7.5% ABV and available in 22 oz. bombers and on draft now through December.

, Newbies – New Releases That You Want to Look Out ForNearly Unpronounceable (Escondido, CA) – Stone Brewing has just released their latest Stochasticity Project beer and if you can pronounce it – you’re better than us. Stochasticity Project Hibiscusicity is a Belgian-style strong ale infused with hibiscus flowers and orange peel. This citrusy, hibiscus-flavored 7.4% ABV Wheat Ale was first brewed on the 10-barrel brewhouse at Liberty Station and it’s rolling out nationally now, on draft and in 22 oz. bottles.

Alaskan Rolls Out Their Pumpkin (Juneau, AK) – Alaskan Brewing is making a favorite from their popular Pilot Series the company’s first fall seasonal. Alaskan Pumpkin Porter is a 7% ABV ale brewed with pumpkin (duh), brown sugar, and spices. It’s available now in 12 oz. bottles and on draft and will be through October.
