Budweiser Is “Not Backing Down”

Although not nearly as overtly offensive as last year’s “Brewed The Hard Way” Super Bowl commercial, Budweiser clearly felt a need to be vaguely belligerent to the craft beer community that roasted them so brutally after last year’s atrocious marketing disaster. And to reaffirm their manly manliness of their beer, at the same time.

This year’s commercial, consisted of a series of HEADLINE STATEMNENTS (curiously about what there beer is NOT), punctuated by an ongoing barrage of images to ensure that the ADHD community stays involved.

Here’s some of what they’re evidently NOT…

, Budweiser Is “Not Backing Down”NOT PONIES

Budweiser is clearly not for ponies (good to know) – it’s only for Budweiser’s Clydesdales and the manly men that take care of them. It used to be for puppies, but they dumped their cute little mascot from last year. And it also used to be for women in bikinis, but they smartly decided not to re-open that door

NOT SMALL

No need to brag – we know you’re the biggest beer company in the world. And what’s big got to do with good anyway? Our favorite size reference was the Bud Light commercial that featured Seth Rogan and Amy Schumer playing campaigning politicians…Rogen playfully claims that they have “biggest caucus in the country.”  And Schumer adds “that it’s not, like, too big…you can handle it.” At least that commercial was fun.

NOT A HOBBY

Neither is alcoholism…but that’s a different subject entirely.

NOT SIPPED

Budweiser is evidently brewed to be guzzled – there’s less time to consider what you’re drinking that way.

NOT SOFT

Do we really have to go, where that headline, not so subtly, hopes we’ll end up?  Let’s just say that they think that Budweiser is for big HARD men – and that if you drink craft beer, you’re clearly a WIMP who “can’t get it up” for a good time.”

NOT IMPORTED

And AB InBev’s NOT a global giant?

NOT A FRUIT CUP

What was Budweiser thinking when they cme out with Bud Light Lime? And why the wording…Fruit Cup? So disturbingly close to the homophobic slur”fruit cake.” (Move along everybody…nothing to see here…nothing to see). Just don’t you ever forget that Budweiser is Manly – and maybe you’re not.

NOT FOLLOWING

They lost us with that one..We thought that followining was what you wanted us to do.

NOT FOR EVERYONE

Hey, we couldn’t agree more!
